Community Involvement

Datatrend and its employees are committed to supporting the community and its surrounding areas. Our contributions align with our Guiding Principles of taking the initiative to make things better and leading by example and with integrity. Datatrend accomplishes this by contributing our time and financial resources to local charities, fund raisers, and food shelves.

As a company, Datatrend promotes team-building by volunteering our time at facilities such as Feed My Starving Children. Datatrend participates annually in the “Dress Down for Leukemia” fund-raiser, to support the MN chapter. In addition, Datatrend makes charitable donations to a variety of our clients’ charity foundations.

Below is some additional information about the different organizations Datatrend supports.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) was founded as a Christian nonprofit in 1987 through the efforts of a Minnesota businessman who felt called by God to help feed the starving children of the world during a humanitarian visit to Honduras. He returned to the Twin Cities (Minnesota) to develop a method of large-scale relief. In 1989, FMSC connected with food scientists from Cargill and General Mills to develop a nutritional product especially for FMSC to feed starving children. In 1993, a church group stopped by the FMSC facility to pursue volunteer opportunities with FMSC. That providential meeting gave birth to FMSC’s volunteer-packing approach.

As individual team members, our employees support a variety of non-profit organizations such as the Special Olympics, Relay for Life, Miracles for Mitch, their own faith-based organizations, and more.

Since its inception in 2003, The Miracles of Mitch Foundation has provided financial and quality-of-life assistance to hundreds of pediatric cancer families. The foundation operates as though “time is of the essence” because, in most cases, it is.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
